Because of the generous support from friends and partners, JSMI was able to distribute backpacks filled with school materials to each of these precious children in this orphanage located three hours outside of Arusha, Tanzania. In addition to the needed school supplies, these children also received candy, toys, hugs, and most importantly, the truth about how must Jesus loves and values them.
Every child that is loved and every adult that is helped because of your financial support, you get credit for it. Your financial support will change lives.
It was a very fulfilling and exciting moment in my life as the Jerry Savelle Bible Correspondence School held its first graduation this past November in Tanzania, Africa. It was such an honor to speak into the lives of the first graduating class and be there to personally hand them their well-earned diplomas. These are pastors from all over Africa many traveling day to participate in this ?rst graduation. Each pastor represents hundreds of people that will be impacted through this outreach. We now have over 400 pastors on a waiting list in Africa to begin their studies in the great Word of God.
What was even more exciting as that on this trip the Lord revealed to me that the Jerry Savelle Bible Correspondence School is being used to fulfill one of my greatest desires: to disciple the Body of Christ. He revealed to me a new phrase I had never heard before, mass discipleship. And like mass evangelism that has taken place out in the fields of the world, this Correspondence School will now be used for mass discipleship all over the world.
The Jerry Savelle Correspondence School is a missions outreach to native pastors and leaders. We do not charge for the courses, books, or audios. And, in most cases, we also give the pastors a cassette player enabling them to take the course. All of this is possible because of my faithful partners and friends. Thank you for your continued support.
PASTORS’ TRAINING SEMINAR: The Pastors’ Training program began last year with 29 pastors and now has 230 actively enrolled, and a waiting list. With more pastors joining, we are expecting over 250 native pastors to attend a Pastors’ Seminar we will hold in November this year. Because they cannot afford the cost, we will provide travel, accommodations, meals, and all of the training materials for these pastors. Each pastor has the potential to impact thousands of lives.
BACKPACKS: These backpacks will be filled with school supplies, two of Dr. Savelle’s books printed in Kiswahili, as well as treats for the children. In November 2007, we handed out backpacks and supplies to 500 children. By putting education together with the Gospel, we know that the lives of these children will truly be impacted and changed. Without the school supplies in these backpacks, the children would be turned away and not allowed to attend class. This outreach enables children to receive an education and bring hope to their entire family.
FEEDING PROGRAM: One African missionary explained that to reach the parents you must feed the children, so we are doing just that; giving food and books (in Kiswahili, the native language) by Dr. Savelle. We are feeding them spirit, soul and body. Many of the families we provide food for live in drought stricken areas. Each family is given enough food to last about 2 months, consisting of corn, beans, rice, oil, salt, and tea. WATER WELLS: The Lord placed it on our hearts to get involved in building water wells for remote villages. The purpose is to help stop water-borne diseases that are prevalent in third world countries. If we can provide purified water, then this would be a huge preventative measure against common diseases. One goal for this year is to build public water wells in key villages in Tanzania bringing fresh, clean water to thousands of families.
What you do right now will make a difference. Because of your financial support of Jerry Savelle Ministries, you are touching people around the world. You are making a difference in the lives of real people struggling to survive in Africa. Thank you friends and partners for being a part of sharing God’s love, compassion, and truth to those in need.
In 2005 God directed us to focus our Africa Missions through our missions headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania. At these headquarters is a thriving Heritage of Faith Christian Center church where people are taught life changing messages every week and it is the epicenter for all of our humanitarian outreaches in Africa.
When you look at any impoverished country, sadly, it is the children who suffer the most. That is why Jerry Savelle Ministries currently supports three orphanages filled with children that have been abandoned or are there due to the death of their parents. Because of the financial support of partners and friends, we are able to provide three meals every day to each child in these three orphanages.
Three years ago JSMI’s International Director, Joe McCroskey, inquired about the needs of orphans and poor children. He discovered that in order for children to be allowed to attend school, the children must provide their own school uniforms, shoes, backpacks and school supplies. We began a project to supply backpacks filled with the necessary school supplies, ministry books, and treats for the children. This outreach enables children to receive an education who would otherwise be unable to attend school at all.
In addition to the humanitarian efforts of distributing food, clothing, school supplies, orphanage support and many other outreaches, crusades are conducted annually where as many as 7,000 lives have run to the altar to meet Jesus in one week.
We know in order to have lasting change and affect an entire nation; local pastors must be trained and given the tools needed to reach their country.
Currently, we are training 230 national Pastors through our Bible Correspondence School translated into their native language of Kiswahili. The pastors have repeatedly testified to us that they have never before heard this kind of Bible teaching, and that the courses have drastically changed not only their lives, but the lives of their congregations. The pastors are so hungry for the Word of God and are so excited when they learn it that they go and put it into action immediately. It is remarkable to see the spiritual growth in these pastors over the past year.
Because of the poor conditions of the country, these pastors have no financial means to afford the cost of the school. This is an outreach and we cover the cost to translate the courses and give the pastors the audio messages, the study guides, and even the cassette player. The rich Word of Faith courses taught by Dr. Savelle, along with annual training seminars are fulfilling the vision that God placed in Dr. Savelle’s heart years ago to go and preach the Gospel
We founded churches in Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. We developed Bible Schools to train leaders and Pastors in a strong foundation of the Word and also offered Pastors’ Training in Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
JSMI began its work preaching in the villages and the bush, and baptizing multitudes in the lakes. We launched a missions campaign: To Kenya With Love, and built 48 churches training close to 6,000 people each week. We provided food, water, clothing and blankets to refugees from the war-torn nations of Somalia, Uganda and Rwanda. We joined ORU in sponsoring a medical clinic where over 28,000 patients were treated each year and heard the Gospel of Jesus! We continued plowing away and pioneering works all over Africa.
Jerry Savelle first stepped foot on African soil in 1978. Where he began teaching the uncompromising Word of God.
